Understand everything about BeatCut.
BeatCut turns your sound and your videos into beat-synced edits with your lyrics on screen, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Two ways to work: Quick mode (a video in under a minute) and the Pro studio (a real editing tool, in your browser).

No account needed to begin: we only ask at your first download, and everything you did is kept.
Start nowOn the home page, this button opens a new project right away. Then pick a mode: Quick or Pro (Pro is for desktop and iPad).
New projectIn the app, the red button at the top of the left column (or the "New" tab at the bottom on phones) creates a blank project.
Account at first downloadWhen you download your first video, a window offers "Continue with Google" or "Continue with my e-mail". Your project, lyrics and videos are attached to your account and the download resumes by itself.
On the phoneQuick mode is designed for phones. If you open BeatCut from TikTok or Instagram, a banner offers to open the site in your real browser: Google sign-in works better there.
My projects
The app's home page: all your projects, organised your way.
CountersAt the top: "Videos created" and "Editing hours saved". They never go down, even if you delete a project.
FoldersCreate folders and sub-folders, rename and delete them (contents move up one level). Drag a project into a folder on desktop, or use "Move to…" on phones.
Search and sortSearch by title, sort by date or name. The breadcrumb always tells you where you are.
Project menuThe three dots on a card: Move, Duplicate, Delete. Click the title to rename.
Open in the Pro studioA project started in Quick mode can always be continued in the Pro studio.
Quick mode — a video in 6 steps
You say what, BeatCut does how. Each step fits on one screen. The arrows at the top go back, the house returns to My projects.
1 · The soundDrop your track (MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG). Pick the excerpt: 15, 30, 45 or 60 s, on the drop or the start, by dragging the frame on the waveform. "Loop" to check.
2 · The lyricsBeatCut writes the lyrics of the excerpt and syncs them word by word. Fix a word, split it, merge it with the next or delete it. No lyrics? Paste your text, or skip.
Tap timingIf pasted text isn't in time: tap each word in rhythm while the sound plays (slowed down if you like). A countdown gets you ready, retry as often as needed.
3 · The visualsThree sources: paste a link (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube — confirming you own the rights), import your videos, or pick from the library sorted by style. "Pick for me" takes shots that match your genre and mood.
Video without cutsOn an imported or pasted video: keep it whole, no beat cuts. Other visuals are removed.
4 · The hookA few seconds before your sound to stop the scroll: an interview excerpt, an intriguing scene. Pick the length (3, 5, 8 or 12 s), listen, turn dialogue captions on or off. The (?) shows an example.
5 · The stylesBeatCut's 18 styles, filtered by music genre and mood, with a live preview on your own words. Pick up to 3 styles and how lyrics appear: Word by word, Line by line, Building line, Brat — or "Vary".
6 · Your videosA vertical feed: one video per screen, edited differently each time. Tap to pause, double-tap or ❤ to like (it guides the next ones, it doesn't download), scroll to skip, swipe right or button to download. A ✓ stays on videos you already took.
Pro studio — like an editing app
On desktop and iPad. Eight tools in the left column (keys 1 to 8), a settings panel, the preview in the middle and the timeline at the bottom. A red dot on a tool means it contains something.
1 · MediaImport your videos and photos, get the ones already uploaded in other projects, set shots per video. In a shared space, media dropped by the master account appear here.
2 · LibraryThousands of clips sorted by style, filterable by orientation and length. Hover for a preview, click to add or remove. A Pexels search is folded below.
3 · SoundYour track, the excerpt (start, length in seconds or in bars for a perfect loop, "Find the drop") and the tempo: detected value in large, −1/+1, ÷2/×2, and TAP if you want to set it yourself.
4 · LyricsAuto detection, pasted text then synced, tap timing, re-sync. Lyrics fixed here are used by every video of the project.
5 · TextThree sub-tabs. Styles: the 18 catalogue styles previewed on your shots, filtered by genre and mood, plus classic styles and "My styles". Settings: font, size, case, colours, position, outline, glow, shadow, background. Effects: karaoke, highlighted words, word animation.
6 · EffectsWhat happens at each cut: flash, zoom punch, shake, glitch, slow zooms, transitions (fade, colour fade…), overlay of another shot. Thumbnails are animated.
7 · LooksThe texture of the image: VHS, grain, saturated, glow, vignette, cinema bars, CRT lines… and the option to apply the look to the text too.
8 · HookEverything about the hook in one place: see the next section.
The timelineTracks Hook (pre-roll, on the left), Shots, Lyrics, Effects and Sound. Click a shot to cut, lock or replace it; drop a clip on it to swap. The hook is trimmed by its handle. Effect markers appear at cuts.
Undo / RedoCtrl+Z and Ctrl+Y (or ↶ ↷ at the top). Everything is undoable, styles included.
The hook in the Pro studio
The Hook panel gathers every setting of the former workshop, live on the timeline.
Add / Change the videoImport a video or pick a shot from the project, make a first cut (3, 5, 8 or 12 s) and add. In a shared space, the master account's hook is placed automatically at the head of new projects.
Play hook + soundPlays the hook in the preview then continues with your excerpt, exactly like the export.
TrimStart and end to the hundredth, selection bar, quick lengths. The timeline follows.
Hook soundDialogue volume (auto-balanced to your music), music under the hook, low-pass (lower = more muffled), filter opening before the drop, music played during the hook (right before the excerpt, seamless, or the excerpt itself) and instrumental (instant low-pass or vocal split, Pro and Studio plans).
Hook captionsThe dialogue is transcribed and shown in your lyrics style. Turn on or off, click a word to fix it, "Re-transcribe" to start over.
Downloading your videos
Rendering happens in your browser: nothing is sent to a server for the picture. One download = one export; re-downloading the same video doesn't count twice.
Quick modeSwipe right or "Download" button on the feed video. "Download started · Cancel" for 3 s: cancelling costs nothing. On iPhone, a "Save" button opens the share sheet to Photos.
Pro studio — 1, 3, 5 or 10 videosThe Export button opens the export window: number of videos (variants shuffle the shots but keep the hook and locked shots in place), frame (9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 16:9) with preview, 1080p or 720p quality, estimated size. Several videos come as a ZIP.
Exports leftEssential: 15 exports per month; Pro and Studio: per plan. What's left is shown in the export window and under the feed's Download button. The 7-day Pro trial counts as 15 exports.
WatermarkNo watermark as soon as a plan is active. Without a plan, export is blocked: the window offers to pick a plan.
An export fails?Keep Chrome, Edge or Safari up to date; on Firefox, update to the latest version. The issue is logged automatically and we handle it; write to us if it persists.

Everything about you, in one place.
PlansEssential €9.99/month · Pro €19.99/month (7-day trial) or €149/year · Studio €499/year. Activate, switch, cancel in two clicks: access stays until the end of the paid period. Reactivating before the end restores renewal.
Language and sign outFrançais / English and "Sign out" are in My account.
StorageThe gauge shows the space used by your imported videos. Library clips don't count.
One device at a timeSigning in on another device closes the previous one (3 devices for Studio).
Delete my accountPermanent: projects, media and subscription deleted. Anonymous statistics remain.
Shared — Label / Agency
For teams: a space where everyone works with the same sounds, clips and hooks, each in their own projects. The Shared tab only shows if you have a master account or were invited.
JoinWith the invitation link or the 6-character code from the master account. The space appears in Shared with its media and guidelines.
New project in this spaceA project created from a space automatically loads the recommended excerpt, the first recommended style and the space's hook. Shared sounds, clips, lyrics and hooks appear in the Pro studio panels and in Quick mode.
Master accountCreates spaces (campaign, artist, album, sound), drops shared media (rename or change their type in a click), sets the recommended excerpt, styles and guidelines, invites, removes a member, pauses, sets an end date and an export cap (checked server-side). Stats and CSV statement of exports per member.

SpacePlay / pause the preview. With the playhead at the start and a hook present, the hook plays first.

Frequently asked questions
My lyrics are detected wrongMake sure the excerpt contains the vocals, then fix the words in the Lyrics step. If the text is unusual, paste it: BeatCut syncs it to the vocals, and tap timing finishes the job.
The tempo is wrongSound panel: −1/+1, ÷2/×2 (the detected tempo is sometimes half or double), or TAP in rhythm.
A library clip doesn't playIt's automatically replaced by a clip of the same style. If it keeps happening, switch or update your browser.
The video doesn't reach Photos (iPhone)Wait for the "Save" button on the video, then choose "Save video" in the share sheet. Safari only opens it after a touch.
I lost my projectProjects are saved at every change. If you started without an account and then signed in, they were attached to your account. Otherwise write to us with the account e-mail.
Can I use any video found online?No: you must own the rights to videos you paste by link. The BeatCut library is free to use in your edits.
